Breeding conditions:
|
| Nesting numbers and success of birds were determined for colonies on the Gorodetsky cape, including counting of Kittiwakes and murres on survey plots and counting of all incubating birds in Great Cormorant colony. Numbers of Common and Thick-billed murres did not change in 2002 compared with 2000, while nests of Great Cormorants became twice less abundant. Mean clutch size of Kittiwakes was low - 1.1, while mean number of chicks in the Cormorant colony was 3.0 (n=100). Seabird diet in late June consisted from capelin (95%) and herring (5%).
